Procedure for preparing goods for shipment
The procedure for preparing goods for shipment begins after the order has been received. Before dispatch, you must ensure that the goods are properly packed and labelled. Packaging protects the contents and other goods from damage, caused by transport, while the labels prescribe how the shipment must be handled.
After the goods have been prepared for dispatch, you must contact the freight forwarding company and reserve adequate transportation space for the entire trip.
You must provide the freight forwarding company with detailed information about the goods, the necessary shipping documents and arrange for the delivery of your cargo to the airport.
After the shipment has been handed over, it is recommended to send all information about the shipment to the consignee, so that necessary documentation can be prepared before the shipment arrives at its destination.
Shipping goods is an involved and complex procedure. We recommend that you consult with your freight forwarding company before shipping the goods so as to gain information about any special requirements or promotions offered by the carriers.
